It is a condition in which a woman or a man does not feel any sexual desire. This reluctance may be due to stress, sadness or another psychological reason. This situation does not change even if the person is sexually aroused. However, if this reluctance persists for more than 6 months, it must be treated. Sexual reluctance is generally divided into 3 categories.
- Primary Sexual Reluctance: This condition begins in adolescence. In this case, the person is not interested in any sexual activity.
- Secondary Sexual Reluctance: Although the person was sexually active before, this situation decreases later.
- Situational Sexual Reluctance: It is the loss of sexual desire in a person at some times. Generally, tiring and stressful days, financial concerns, and suddenly changing emotional states can cause this.
What Causes Sexual Reluctance?
This is a problem that can be seen in both women and men. It may occur due to advancing age. But it can sometimes be seen at any age. It also occurs psychologically. It may be caused by conditions such as pain during sexual intercourse, lack of stimulation, incompatibility, inability to get an erection in men, and premature or late ejaculation.
How to Treat Lack of Sexual Desire?
There are many metabolic and psychological disorders that can cause sexual reluctance. Metabolic reasons are as follows: heart, prostate, neurological diseases, diabetes. By treating these disorders, the problem will disappear. If the situation is psychological, meeting with a psychiatrist would be a healthy choice. The most important element in the treatment process is to be patient and not get stressed.
